In 2014, Daniel Taub, Israel’s ambassador to Britain, paid a visit to Bradford City after its member of parliament, George Galloway, had professed during a speech that the constituency is an ‘Israel free zone.
Mr. Taub spoke to Telegraph & Argus on the matter and revealed that his visit came after he was invited by leaders within the community to discuss some pertinent issues following Galloway statement that the city should be free from all academicians, tourists, goods, and services from Israel. During the visit, Daniel expressed that his impressions of Bradford reflected different attitudes to those being advocated for by Galloway. He went on further to state that having a model where individuals from varying faiths and backgrounds can exist and cooperate should be of utmost concern.
Following Mr. Galloway’s statement and a loud public outcry on social media, the British police began conducting investigations on the issue. The west MP of Bradford had posted the comment online.

Even before his sentiments on making Bradford an Israel free zone, Mr. Galloway had a long history of expressing anti-Israel prejudice. For instance, at one point he walked out of a debate on the realization that his opponent was an Israelite.
Additionally, Galloway had broadcasted a number of bizarre anti-Israel conspiracy theories such as the country engineering unrest in Ukraine and also that it had offered chemical weapons to Al-Qaeda. Galloway denied the comments later in even though they had been recorded.

Daniel Taub served as the Israel Ambassador to the United Kingdom from 2011 to 2015. Before that, Mr. Taub had worked in several other legal and diplomatic positions.
The Israel ambassador was born in the UK in 1962 but relocated to Israel in 1989. After his relocation, he worked for the Israel Defence Force (IDF) and the Israeli Foreign Ministry.
Daniel Taub pursued his education at the three distinguished Universities including University College in Oxford, University College in London, and Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.
Presently, Daniel is the Director of Strategy and Planning at Yad Hanadiv foundation. Additionally, he is an author or several articles and public speaker lecturing at different public forums.
