Dr Rod Rohrich: Highly Acclaimed Plastic Surgeon

Rod J. Rohrich is an internationally renowned expert in the field of plastic surgery and a Professor and Chairman of the Department of Plastic Surgery at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Based in Dallas, Texas, Dr. Rohrich is the recipient of numerous prestigious awards, and has been continuously recognized as one of the best plastic surgeons in America. He has also been featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Good Morning America, and The View and has been named one of the Best Doctors in America by Good Housekeeping Magazine.

Known for his artistic touch and unique vision, Dr. Rohrich is widely acclaimed for his talent to restore youthful vigor and precise definition to the face and body. Dr. Rohrich is also an innovative leader and educator in the field of plastic surgery. Holding a patent on a new breast implant design, Dr. Rohrich is Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, and is the author of more than 600 peer review articles, 50 chapters, and has published five textbooks on the subject of plastic surgery. He is also Editor-in-Chief of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and an editor for Selected Readings in Plastic Surgery.

Growing up on a ranch in North Dakota, Dr. Rohrich attended North Dakota State University and the University of North Dakota, where he completed both his undergraduate and postgraduate education. He went on to attend Baylor University College of Medicine, graduating with high honors. After completing his general surgery and plastic surgery residencies at The University of Michigan Medical Center, he went on to complete further training in pediatric plastic surgery at the prestigious Oxford University in England. Following his completion of a hand and microvascular fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard MEdical School, Dr. Rohrichbecome a member of the Division of Plastic Surgery at UT Southwestern in Dallas in 1986.

Dr. Rohrich is a civic leader and philanthropist, He has served on the Board of Directors of the March of Dimes, Save the Children – Dallas, March of Dimes,he Evergreen Gala Advisory Board, Dallas Chapter of the American Cancer Society, in addition to being a Founding Member of the Dallas for Children Foundation. Dr. Rohrich also established a foundation in his name – the Rod J. Rohrich Foundation, where he provides financial assistance to medical student every year. Furthermore, he has traveled to Third World countries, where he has both taught and performed plastic surgery. He concentrates specifically on reconstructing badly burned and congenitally deformed children.
